2027 BMW 7 Series Facelift Revealed With Neue Klasse Tech and Fresh Design
BMW has introduced a mid-cycle refresh for its flagship 7 Series, aligning the luxury sedan with the design language and technology seen in its Neue Klasse lineup, including the i3 and iX3 models. The update continues the G70 generation’s bold styling direction while integrating features that will gradually extend across the brand’s future vehicles.
BMW refreshes the 2027 7 Series with Neue Klasse-inspired design, updated tech, luxury interior upgrades, and gas, hybrid, and electric options.

The exterior changes are noticeable but not drastic. At the front, the 7 Series adopts a more upright stance with its large kidney grille, while the previous split lighting arrangement gives way to slimmer “crystal” headlamps. Along the sides, the silhouette remains largely unchanged, though new wheel designs between 20 and 22 inches are now available. At the rear, a thin lighting signature stretches across the trunk, separated only by the BMW badge.
For those seeking a sportier feel, BMW offers optional M Sport and M Sport Professional packages. These enhancements introduce aerodynamic upgrades such as larger air intakes, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The standard M Sport package adds black accents and upgraded brakes with blue calipers, while the Professional version further includes a darker grille finish, unique 21-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and M-specific steering and braking components.
A notable addition to the customization options is the Individual Dual-Finish paint. This premium offering involves a meticulous 75-hour process carried out by over 20 specialists. The result is a two-tone finish combining a matte lower body with a metallic upper section, with optional hand-drawn coach lines for added distinction.
Inside, the 2027 7 Series adopts a layout heavily inspired by BMW’s newer electric models. A redesigned steering wheel accompanies the Panoramic iDrive system, which spans the width of the dashboard. The setup includes a 3D head-up display, a 17.9-inch central touchscreen, and a 14.6-inch passenger display. Traditional controls are minimized, as most functions are managed via touch, steering wheel inputs, or voice commands.
Rear-seat comfort remains a key highlight. Standard multifunction seats provide heating, ventilation, and massage features. The Executive Lounge package elevates the experience further with a reclining rear seat, integrated leg rest, and premium materials such as Alcantara. Passengers can also enjoy the 31.3-inch Theater Screen, an 8K display controlled through rear armrest touchscreens, offering access to entertainment and gaming applications.
The 7 Series continues to offer a broad range of powertrains. Gas-powered models include the 740 and 740 xDrive, each delivering 394 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, with starting prices of $101,350 and $104,350 respectively. These versions are set to arrive later in the year.
The plug-in hybrid 750e xDrive combines a turbocharged inline-six engine with an electric motor, producing a total of 483 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. This variant is scheduled for release in early 2027, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
Fully electric options include the 50 xDrive and 60 xDrive. The 50 xDrive delivers 449 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, starting at $107,750. The more powerful 60 xDrive produces 536 horsepower and 549 lb-ft of torque, with a price tag of $126,250.
